Ship Chandlery, Bonded Stores and CTM in Bangladesh, Control Points

Stores and cash-to-master are husbandry lines. They need quotation, approval and signed evidence, not informal gangway handover.

Current-fact control: This article explains planning and agency practice. Port notices, tariffs, drafts, berth/terminal limits, Customs/Immigration routes, carrier acceptance and technical-provider requirements can change. Confirm the current primary-source instruction for the actual vessel, cargo, equipment and date before operational reliance.

Ship chandler delivery, bonded stores and cash-to-master appear throughout local operating mail as quotation-and-receipt workflows. Informal cash or unrecorded stores create both security and accounting problems. CTM, bonded stores and delivery logistics require advance arrangement; confirm channels and limits before arrival.

Minimum controls

Written quotation and principal approval; Delivery receipt signed on board; CTM counted and receipted under the Master’s procedure; Customs-sensitive bonded items handled through proper channels.

Boundary

CPA coordinates husbandry under appointment. It is not a cash courier in the informal sense and does not guarantee supplier quality beyond the approved provider arrangement for that order. Confirm current feasibility for CTM before promising the Master a figure.

Bonded items and ordinary provisions should not be mixed into one uncontrolled gangway handover. Customs-sensitive goods need the proper channel.

CTM counts should follow the Master’s procedure with dual control where the company requires it. Informal partial handovers create both security and accounts problems.

The principal should receive the approved order, supplier invoice, quantity or cash handover receipt, receiver name, delivery time and exception note. Short supply, substitution, rejected item or balance cash must be reported separately and closed against written instruction.

Completion Evidence Returned

CPA reports the changed vessel position, supplier readiness, access status and any revised delivery basis. Additional launch, barge, overtime or storage cost should remain subject to written approval unless the agreed instruction already covers it.

Jetty-side delivery, launch delivery and anchorage barge delivery do not carry the same access, timing or cost basis. A vessel locked at anchorage, a changed berth rotation or a pilot cut can move the delivery window after goods have been prepared.

Delivery Depends on the Vessel Position

For stores, freeze specification, quantity, substitution rule and price basis before dispatch. For bonded items, confirm the current declaration and delivery route. For CTM, use the principal-approved collection, custody, handover and signed-receipt controls.

Ship chandlery, bonded stores and cash to master should not run under one undivided request. Each has a different approval path, custody risk and completion record. The order should identify vessel, position, required delivery window, consignee onboard and the party authorised to approve changes.

Separate Three Instruction Files

Run ship stores, bonded stores and cash to master as three separate instruction files, each with a written quotation and principal approval. Chandler deliveries need a receipt signed on board, bonded items go through the proper Customs channel, and cash to master is counted and receipted under the Master's procedure.

Keeping them apart avoids one uncontrolled gangway handover that mixes bonded and ordinary items. Confirm current feasibility and limits for cash to master before promising the Master a figure.
