Crew movement depends on complete, matching documents being available before travel. This guide gives a working list for Chattogram, Mongla and accepted Matarbari calls, but it is not a universal Immigration checklist: nationality, carrier, transit point, joining or leaving status, vessel position and current authority instruction determine the final set. For an actual case, nationality, passport and seaman’s-book status, airline routing, Immigration or Shipping Office requirements, vessel position, weather and safe launch access may change the document route and timing. Immigration, manning and welfare steps are case-specific; confirm current local practice for the crew and ETA.

Core Documents for Every Crew Member

Start with a valid passport, seaman’s book or CDC, matching crew particulars, rank, vessel name and travel plan. Required remaining validity and any separate service record depend on the airline, transit country, flag or manning arrangement; do not apply one six-month rule to every case without checking the actual route.

Sign-On Specific Requirements

For sign-on crew, an airline, Immigration or local agency support letter may be requested for the particular route. The agent prepares or submits the applicable support paper but does not issue the authority’s entry decision. Appointment evidence, health information, crew particulars and vessel schedule are added where the carrier or competent desk requires them.

Sign-Off Specific Requirements

For sign-off crew, the working set usually includes the vessel and crew particulars, passport and seaman’s book, proposed repatriation booking and the local landing, NOC or fee papers required for that case. The duty desk confirms which authority document applies before the crew leaves the vessel.

Conditional Requirements

Do not rely on a static PCR or vaccination statement. Health, test and vaccination documents must be checked for the actual travel date against the airline, transit country, destination, Port Health and Immigration instructions. A test is arranged only where the applicable route requires it.

Routing & Visa-on-Arrival

Joining crew may route through Dhaka, Chattogram or another accepted airport depending on nationality, airline and the vessel’s location. Visa-on-arrival, transit, landing or seafarer-entry eligibility is never assumed from a broad nationality list; the duty desk checks the actual passport, residence, embarkation point, airline and current Immigration instruction before ticketing.
